The Executive Secretary of Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), Tolulope Odunaiya, has solicited the collaboration of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) in sensitizing pensioners with complaints under the Defined Benefit Scheme managed by PTAD.
The Executive Secretary made this call while on a courtesy visit to the Honourable Chief Commissioner of the PCC, Hon. Bashir Abubakar, MFR, at the Commission’s head office in Abuja.
Tolulope Odunaiya expressed her appreciation to the Commission for the support they have rendered to PTAD over the years, noting “Your Commission’s role in bridging the gap between PTAD and its pensioners has been instrumental. It has helped us build trust, improve communication, and reach those who need our help the most.”
She further noted that as the nation’s Ombudsman, the PCC receives complaints from pensioners and Next-of-Kin of deceased pensioners, wading in where necessary, which has been of immense support to the Directorate’s efforts to connect more effectively with the pensioners.
The PTAD boss, while giving an update of some complaints forwarded to the Directorate by the PCC assured the Commission of PTAD’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the welfare of Pensioners, observing that “However, the resolution of some complaints may be delayed due to the submission of incomplete documents by the Pensioners or Next-of-Kin (NOK) which is essential for conducting thorough and accurate investigations”.
According to her, “in light of this, we will need your assistance in enlightening the pensioners and NOKs on the importance of submitting complete and verifiable information.”
The Honourable Chief Commissioner in his response, acknowledged the prompt attention PTAD gives to complaints from the Commission, and expressed their willingness to support PTAD in the enlightenment project, while expressing his appreciation for the Executive Secretary’s proactive approach to tackling issues affecting the pensioners.
